Nicolas Steegmann

Nicolas Steegmann is the founder and managing partner of Wakefield Legacy Capital, where he manages day-to-day activities and investment decisions. He started the firm with the simple goal of identifying an established company to acquire and grow.

Nicolas is a strategic, innovative leader with experience in multiple businesses and a proven track record of finding solutions to business problems and driving initiatives. With a solid academic background, high emotional intelligence, and an effective communication style, he has prospered in various companies, with over eight years of experience in business strategy, finance, operations, and marketing. Nicolas’ professional background working in Insurance, Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Venture Capital at small firms and large corporations, provides a diverse experience to Wakefield Legacy.

Prior to Wakefield Legacy, Nicolas was a senior business consultant at Liberty Mutual where he was responsible for developing, implementing, and managing division and firm-wide strategies. Before that he worked at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and business owners on investment decisions.

Nicolas has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in business and finance from Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF) in Madrid, Spain.

He grew up in Spain and has lived in several different countries and US states before moving to Columbus, OH where he currently resides with his wife Carolin.
